Community Fitness Center to Open Friday Nov. 2

The doors to the Community Fitness Center within the Port Byron Central School District will open officially at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m.

The special ceremony will be held in the lobby of the Athletic Center at 3:30 p.m. to honor Senator Michael Nozzolio. His help and support in securing a grant for the purchase of the exercise equipment enabled the district to create a much-needed fitness center.

Students and community representatives are welcome to attend the celebration. The Center has close to two dozen aerobic machines such as: treadmills, ellipticals and bicycles. In addition to a large collection of advanced aerobic training machines, there is a full circuit of resistance weight training machines. Lastly, traditional weight training equipment is available. The Center has two changing rooms with showers for community members.

For those fitness enthusiasts out there, the center will be opened to the community at 5:15 a.m. on Nov. 2 for your morning workout.
