Port Byron students celebrate homecoming week

From streamer-adorned hallways to throwback costumes, there was no shortage of Port Byron Central School District spirit during this year's homecoming week.

On Sept. 11-15, students in grades 7-12 dressed according to daily themes, decorated school hallways and participated in a pep rally. The school mascot - a friendly, fuzzy Panther - made its way into classrooms to greet students.

The Panther Pride celebration continues through the weekend with various athletic contests - including soccer and field hockey matchups, a cross country meet and a 7 p.m. Sept. 15 football game versus Southern Hills Storm (Tully/LaFayette/Fabius Pompey). A dance will be held Sept. 16 for Dana L. West Junior/Senior High School students.
