Port Byron CSD's boys cross country team placed second at the Chittenango Invitational.

PBXC teams earn invitational's top scores

On Oct. 21, Port Byron Central School District's boys cross country team finished second at the Chittenango Invitational.

The team was led by Braden York's fifth place finish of 17:41.7, Michael Schumacher's sixth place in 17:41.9, and Ben York's seventh place finish in 17:43.4, as the three ran step-for-step the duration of the 3.1 mile course.

Also running well for the Panthers were Jon Jackson, who finished 14th in 18:47.0, Jakob Dillon's 15th place finish (19:01.7), Tad Patterson in 21st at 19:49.6, and Robert Thompson's 25th place (20:51.9).

The girls team also competed and ran well, finishing fifth. Hannah Yorkey finished eighth in 20:57.8, Haley Yorkey was 14th in 21:47.1, Corrine Stevens finished 20th in 23:54.0, Allayna Dillon was 26th in 24:30.1, Molly Yorkey finished 27th in 24:39.0, while Chelsea Rooker finished 30th in 25:06.6.

Both teams will compete in the Patriot League Championship on Oct. 25 at Highland Forest Park in Fabius.
