Port Byron holding four community budget forums

In May, Port Byron Central School District will hold four community forums where residents can learn more about the district's 2018-19 proposed budget.

The Port Byron Board of Education on April 12 adopted a proposed $21.3 million budget that does not increase spending compared to the 2017-18 school year and carries a tax levy increase of 1.2 percent, or $73,472.

The forums, which are open to all district residents, will take place at the following times and locations:

- 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Conquest Town Hall (Public Hearing)

- 6 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Throop Town Hall

- 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Montezuma Town Hall

- 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Dana West Junior/Senior High School in the Lehn Library

District residents will have an opportunity to vote on Port Byron’s budget proposal 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 15, 2018 in the lobby of the district’s Athletic Center.
